“黄冈中学高考第一、二、三轮训练题”丛书采用“全真模拟”的形式突出它的特点，无论是开放题型还是常规题型的题目数量以及难度，都要求尽量贴近高考、贴近实际、注重创新、注重实用。针对高考一、二、三轮复习的不同时间段和特点，我们把一轮的训练题定位为单元练习，把二、三轮的训练题定位为专题和高考模拟试卷，从三个侧面、三个层次全方位循序渐进地解决学生在三轮复习过程中出现的问题。这套丛书的内容一部分取自于黄冈中学内部使用和友好学校交流的资料，另一部分是根据最近高考试题变化及时补充的新资料，现结集出版，首次公开面世。

　　Hank Viscardi was born without legs.He had not legs but stumps(残肢)that could be fitted with a kind of special boots，People stared at him with cruel interest.Children laughed at him and called him'ApeMan'(猿人)because his arnls practically dragged on the ground.
　　Hank went to school like other boys.His grades were good and he needed only eight years to finish his schooling instead of the usual twelve.After graduating from school，he worked his way through college.He swept floors，waited on table，or worked in one of the cortege offices.During all this busy life，he had been moving around on his stumps.But one day the doctor told him even the stumps were not going to last much longer.He would soon have to use a wheel chair.
　　Hank felt himself got cold all over.However，the doctor said there was a chance that he could be fitted with artificial legs(假腿).Finally a leg maker was found and the day canle when Hank stood up before the mirror，for the first time he saw himself as he has always wanted to be a full five feet eight inches tall.By this time he was already 26 years old.
　　Hank had to learn to use his new legs.Again and again he marched the length of the room，and marched back again.There were times when he fell down on the floor，but he pulled himself up and went hack tn the enflless marching.He went 0lt on the street.He climbed stail.s and learned to dance.He builta boat and learned to sail it.
　　When World War II came，h-e talked the Red C-ross into giving him He marched and drilled along with the other soldiers.Few knew that he of Hank Viscardi，a man without legs.
